He was predeceased by: his parents, Anton Popelka and Helen Popelka (Kowach); his daughter Kristin; and his siblings, Elizabeth Tepley (Joe), Joseph Popelka (Patti), Barbara Dulaney (Chris), Patricia Popelka, Margaret Downing (George) and Anthony Popelka (Maryann).
He is survived by: his wife Joan M. May; his daughter Kelly Popelka; and his siblings, Mary Gosse (late Orville), Theresa Greskoviak (late Richard), Rita Popelka, Vincent Popelka (Sue), Edward Popelka and Robert Popelka (late Esther). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
