He was predeceased by: his parents, Irving Ellefsen and Alice Ellefsen (Silversen); his daughter Kimberly Ellefsen; his grandson Mathew Ellefsen; his sons, James Hoffelt and George Hoffelt; and his brother Richard Ellefsen.
He is survived by: his wife Dolores M. Herwig Hoffelt; his children, Joseph Hoffelt (Peggy), Thomas Hoffelt, Marian Moretti (Michael), Jefferey Hoffelt (Laurie), Robert Ellefsen, Michelle Stinger, Lori Ellefsen and Linda Urbanec; his sister Marilyn Ellefsen; and his sister-in-law Frankie Ellefsen. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
