He was predeceased by: his parents, John J. Follmer and Dorthea Nester; and his siblings, Patricia Follmer, Georgia Elliott, Dottie Darnell, Kathy Keesee and Joseph Follmer.
He is survived by: his wife Janice Follmer; his daughter Kari Glanville (Darin); his stepdaughter Christina LeGrand; his grandchildren, Amanda Partl (Tom), Anthony Divine, Alex Blackledge, Ella and Mason Glanville; his great grandchildren, Kennedi and Delilah Partl; and his pet Rosie. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Per John's wishes, a ceremony will not be held as he wanted to donate his body to science to further medical research.
