With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Jackie Bevo Bivens of Sparta, Illinois, who passed away on January 6, 2025 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Everett Bivens and Lucille Bivens (Newton); and his siblings, John (Lois), Jim (Jeanine), Bill Bivens and Ioan Alms.
He is survived by: his wife Kay Bivens (Siegfried) of Sparta; his children, Melissa Gross (Bill) of Chester, Margie Wagner (Fred) of Steeleville and Jack Bivens (Christy) of Springfield, IL; his siblings, Robert Bivens (Martha) of Elizabethtown, KY and Linda Stallman (Don) of Chester, IL; his siblings-in-law, Vera Siegfried of Chester, IL and John Schroeder of Rockwood, IL; his grandchildren, Meredith Klausing (Bobby) of Sparta, IL, Morgan Bendorf (Cody) of Chester, IL, Jeff Wagner (Leah) of Pinckneyville, IL, Eric Caby (Adrienne) of Chester, IL, Stephanie Box (Justin), Jacob Bivens (Kirsten) and Jeremy Bivens (Mariah) of Rochester, IL; and his great grandchildren, Parker Klausing, Anna Bendorf, Mia Bendorf, Stephen Wagner (Georgia), David Wagner (Aubrey), Andrew Wagner (Madison), Blayne Wagner, Maggie Caby, Marlie Caby, Lillian Box, Gunnar Box, Apollo Box and Lennox Bivens. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, January 12th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Monday, January 13th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church (611 W Broadway St, Sparta, IL 62286). A rosary was held on Sunday, January 12th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Monday, January 13th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
