He was predeceased by: his wife Frankie Shook (Wood); his parents, Jessie Shook and Esther Shook (Gass); his son Sonny Fred Shook; his stepchildren, Robert "Bobby" Hamill and Blanche Franklin; and his siblings, Duane Shook, Juanita Obermeir and Billie Morrison.
He is survived by: his children, Carl Jessie Shook (Marlee) of Byron, GA, Ruth Elizabeth Herrera (Stan) of San Antonio, TX and Wayne Allen Shook of Marissa, IL; his stepdaughters, June Frech of O'Fallon, IL and Dorothy Koerner of Mt. Vernon, IL; his grandchildren, Nicole Peters (Tom) of Freeburg, IL, Derek Shook (Julia) of Smithton, IL, David Bierman of San Antonio, TX, Christopher Herrera (Kristin) of Japan, John Shook of Dallas, TX, Angela Rowland of Searcy, AR, Jennifer Brackenridge of Searcy, AR, Becky Keene of Byron, GA, Christine Etheridge of Byron, GA and Eighteen; and his sister Maxine Giacomo of Belleville, IL. He is also survived by Eighteen Great Grandchildren.
Visitation: Friends and family may attend Heil-Schuessler & Sinn Funeral Home in Tilden, IL on Sunday, March 14, 2021 from 5:00 to 7:00 p. m. and on Monday, March 15, 2021 from 10:00 to 11:00 a. m. Face masks are required to be worn within the building in accordance with CDC guidelines.
