He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence A. Nicholson and Clata Taylor Nicholson; his daughter Vicky Willingham-Schoeneberg; and his brothers, Dale and Alan Nicholson.

He is survived by: his wife Margaret Nicholson of Sparta; his sons, David Alan Nicholson of Indianapolis, IN, Jeremy Nicholson (Shannon) of Brownsburg, IN, Eric Willingham (Tammie) of Caseyville, IL and Alan Willingham (Sharilyn) of Belleville, IL; his son-in-law Neil Schoeneberg of Edwardsville, IL; and his siblings, Mel Nicholson (Ethel) of Booneville, IN and Linda Haverty of Albuquerque, NM.. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren.

Memorials may be given to First Baptist Church, Percy.
