He was predeceased by: his parents, James Cunning and Margaret Cunning (Weikum); his son Thomas; and his siblings, William Cunning (Dolly), Robert Cunning (Lorraine), Faye Lain (Ray) and Minnie LeRoy (Al).
He is survived by: his children, Donna Cunning of Chicago, Dean Cunning (Kyle) of Gardner and Lori Quigley (Willie) of Braidwood; his grandchildren, Sara Cunning of Miami, Lauren Quigley (Jeramie Bublitz) of Chicago, Brandon Cunning (Lauren Homerding) of Essex and Lyndsey Trammel (Corey) of Coal City; his great grandchildren, Gauge and Gentry Trammel; and his siblings, Alyce Mae Rink (late Bill) of Wilmington, Shirley Cavanaugh (John) of Custer Park, Raymond Cunning (late Kay) of Calumet and Donald Cunning (Jody) of Sebring, Florida..
