It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gilbert Paul Markus of South Holland, Illinois, born in Blue Island, Illinois, who passed away on December 24, 2021, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. He is survived by: his wife Wanda; his daughters, Pauline Smith (Matt), Cindi Garetto (Mike) and Michelle Kelley (Dan); his stepson Jae Lee Reubke (late Stephanie); and his grandchildren, Matthew Smith Jr., Michael Smith, Isabella Garetto, Michael Garetto Jr., Brooke Kelley and Tyler Kelley. He is also survived by extended family, dear friends and especially his grandchildren.
He succumbed to a reoccurrence of lymphoma which was complicated by his battle with Alzheimer's.
