He was predeceased by: his spouse Vernel J. DeYoung; his son Jim DeYoung (Rae); and his siblings, Richard DeYoung (Virginia), Robert DeYoung (late Bertha), Goldie Tanis (late Vic) and Kenneth DeYoung (late Winifred).
He is survived by: his children, Diane Jansma (Chuck) and Steve DeYoung (Laura); his grandchildren, Kelly DeYoung, Steven DeYoung (Andrea), John DeYoung, Jeremy Jansma (Christina), Julie Hayes (Matt), Jason Jansma (Laura), Justin Jansma (Shelly), Andrew DeYoung (Stefanie), Matthew DeYoung (Britney) and Joshua DeYoung; and his sister Harriet DeYoung (late Wayne).
