David Bender Obituary

We are sad to announce that on April 17, 2025, at the age of 75, David Bender of South Holland, Illinois passed away. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of David Bender to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, George and Virginia; his granddaughter Elizabeth; and his brothers-in-law, William Wessel, John Kern and Robert Kern.

He is survived by: his wife Jeanne of South Holland, IL; his children, David Bender (Laura) of Hebron, IN, Tammy Bender (Scott) of Crown Point, IN, Jeremy Bender of South Holland, IL and Sabrina Wisniewski (Greg) of Bloomington, IN; his grandchildren, Nicole (Dakota), Meghan, Annmarie, Cory, Abigail, Katherine, Eric, Jacob, Jackson, Molly, Conner, Owen and Emily; his great grandchildren, Stella, Clara, Quinn and Penelope; his brother Dennis Bender (Linda) of Marseilles, IL; his sisters-in-law, Marianne Wessel, Kathy Kern and Sydney Kern; his friend Harry Blaundin; his close friends, Rosie and Buster; and his caregiver Huron Wilson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 23rd 2025 at 9:30 AM at the St. Thomas More Church (8501 Calumet Ave, Munster, IN 46321). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 23rd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Wednesday, April 23rd 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery (20953 W Hoff Rd, Elwood, IL 60421).

“I was so sorry to see that Dave has passed away. I was a good friend of his as well as with his dad George and brother Dennis all through High School.. I was the same year as Dave at Thornridge High School. I worked at Tops Supermarket in Dolton with all of them. Found memories of them will last forever. Sorry for your loss.
