She was predeceased by: her parents, Dr. Jay Gilmore Black and Evelyn Jane Black (Isaacson); and her husband William John Akins. She is survived by: her siblings, Dr. Jay Charles Black (Pam), Rosy Eckhardt (Gene) and Bruce Black; her daughters, Erin Akins (Donny) and Kelly Akins; her grandchildren, Thomas Akins (Lily), Joseph Akins and Brooke Totos; and her great grandchild Violet Akins.
