He was predeceased by: his son Dennis; his brother Gordan Schaeffer; and his son-in-law Joseph. He is survived by: his wife Carol Marie (Egger); his children, Deborah Kalisz, David Schaeffer (Lynn) and Doug Schaeffer (Kim); his grandchildren, Joshua Lorang (Nicole), Jeremy Lorang (Lindsey), Amy Hayes, Ryan Schaeffer, Brandy Leman (Scott), Jonny Schaeffer and Justin Schaeffer; his great grandchildren, Dakota, Addison, Grace, Joshua Jr. Lorang, Alexis, Bryson Lorang, Maximus, Lincoln, Oliver and Jaxon Leman; and his sister-in-law Marilyn Applebey.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to: Elgin Senior Center, 101 S. Grove Ave., Elgin, IL 60120 or to the Eastgate RV & Mobile Home Park, 2801 East Harrison Ave., Harlingen, TX 78550. Donations can be made out to Eastgate Activity Club.
