We are sad to announce that on February 3, 2023 we had to say goodbye to Edgar Van Barriger (South Beloit, Illinois), born in Rockford, Illinois. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Edgar M and Dorothy Van Barriger (Cholke); his wife Linnea Johnson; his children, John Van Barriger and Lori Van Barriger; and his sisters, Mary (Raymond Hakala) and Dorothy (Dick Nyberg). He was also cherished by his family and many, many friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry at St. Peter's Church in South Beloit, Illinois, or the Northern Illinois Hospice at https://northernillinoishospice.org.

“My condolences for the loss of such a wonderful man. I worked with Ed at Woodward, and was fortunate enough to go on a fly-in trip to Canada with him and his friends Bob Alloway and Ray Hakala. Best fishing trip I was ever a part of. Ed was a kind and giving man, always positive and smiling. Seeing him at the Woodward 25 year club gatherings was the one of the highlights of the night. Much respect and love for you Ed. RIP my friend ❤️”
