With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Russel M Pope (Sorento, Illinois), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 28, 2025 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph D. Pope and Geraldine O. Pope (May); his siblings, Gary and Karen McCracken; and his brother-in-law Orin McCracken.
He is survived by: his wife Evelyn Pope; his daughter Julie Carrillon (Dean) of Carlyle; his grandchildren, Bethany and Dustin Carrillon; his sister Geraldine Griffiths (Lonnie) of Sorento; his aunt Shirlene Dougherty (Andy) of Kincaid; and his uncle Eldon May of Paoli, IN. He is also survived by Several cousins and many dear nieces and nephews.
Memorials are suggested to the Sorento First Presbyterian Church, Wisetown Baptist Church, Sunnyside Cemetery or the donor's choice.
