He was predeceased by: his parents, Hank Earnest and Margaret Earnest; his former wife Betty Earnest; his stepdaughter Cheryl Collman; his children-in-law, Lisa Earnest and Kurt Heflin; and his siblings, Ida Busch, Virgil Earnest, Edgar Earnest, Lil Schuster, Nellie Greenfield and Gladys Wells.
He is survived by: his former wife Betty Adams; his wife Willa Earnest; his children, Larry Earnest of Vandalia, IL and Cindy Heflin; his stepson John Gall Jr.; his granddaughters, Jessica, Josie Barnes (Kyle) and Danielle Heflin; his stepgrandchildren, Derek, Cale Gall, Nicholas Snow (Cara), Lauren, Megan and Snow; his stepgreat-grandchild Kinslee Gall; and his siblings, Marvin Earnest of Old Ripley, IL and Georgia Bakay (John) of Belleville, IL. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
