It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carol J. Thayer of Somonauk, Illinois, born in Aurora, Illinois, who passed away on October 11, 2024, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, John M. Buri and Lucy Buri (Pleashe); her husband Eugene "Gene" Thayer; her daughter Shelly Moore; her daughter-in-law Nanci Thayer; and her grandson Joshua Owen.
She is survived by: her children, Debra Owen (Dennis) of Leland, IL, Terry Dunaway (Bill) of Waterman, IL and William Thayer (Michelle) of Kuttawa, KY; her grandchildren, Jennifer Beethan, Eugene Owen, Harley, Angie, Cristine Moore, Casey, Randy Dunaway, Katie Rogers, William Thayer, Jr. and Kyle Thayer; her sister Donna Burks of Monmouth, IL; and her son-in-law Tim Moore. She is also survived by thirteen great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
