He was predeceased by: his father Edward Carpenter; and his nephew Benjamin Shaw. He is survived by: his mother Mary Carpenter (Cromer) of Aurora; his wife Janet O'Connor of Somonauk; his children, Kristina Kuntz (Andy) of Darien and Scott Carpenter (Laura) of Somonauk; his grandchildren, Beckett, Decker, Griffin and Harper Grace; and his siblings, Kathy Shaw (Kenneth) of Chesterfield, SC, Jennifer Ortiz of Chesterfield, SC and Jeffery Carpenter of Chesterfield, SC. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
