It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ardell Becherer of Smithton, Illinois, born in Belleville, Illinois, who passed away on September 29, 2021, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John and Bertha; his father-in-law John (Alice); his siblings, Cletus Becherer, Norman Becherer (Dorothy) and Bertina Davis (Richard); and his sisters-in-law, Myra Jean Mueller (Leon) and Joan Lauff.
He is survived by: his wife MaryAnn; his children, Michael Becherer (Carla) of Columbia, IL, Laurie Mestel (David) of Mt. Vernon, IL, Connie Becherer of Smithton, IL, Judy Glaeser (John) of Millstadt, IL and Susie Kossina (Dave) of Millstadt, IL; his grandchildren, David "DJ" Mestel, Emily Decker (Sean), Katrina Mestel, Kelsey Viviano (Dustin), Steven, Veronica Becherer, Logan (Rachel Webb), Luke, Lance Glaeser, Tony (Cailee Cox), Cal, Joey and Kaytie Kossina; his great grandchildren, Maddy Glenn, London, Kaegan Mestel, Gwen, William, Dorothy, Joseph Decker, Brooklyn Cox and Everlee Kossina; and his siblings-in-law, Esther Becherer, Dale Lauff, Sandy and Jack Weck. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Standard CDC guidelines will be followed, including masks and social distancing.
