With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Ignacio I. Cortez of Sleepy Hollow, Illinois, who passed away on June 19, 2023 at the age of 79. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ignacio Cortez and Maria Inés Ibarra Martinez; his uncle Francisco Cortez; his aunt Manuela Muñoz; and his siblings, Alicia, Estela, Lourdes, Luciano, Raul, Irma, Eduardo, Perfecto and Guadalupe.
He is survived by: his wife Maria; his children, Elizabeth Stein, Esteban Cortez, Esther Garcia, Sara Olvera and Ignacio Cortez Jr.; his siblings, Gloria, Alvaro, Alejandro, Mariano and Daniel; and his grandchildren, Jonathan, Vanity, James, Mandy Olvera, Jeremy, Nathaniel Stein, Stephanie N., Christopher, Valerie I. Cortez, Naomi I. Garcia and Dyana Cortez. He is also survived by nieces and nephews as he was one of 15 siblings.
