He was predeceased by: his parents, Isadore and Doris; and his brother Melvin. He is survived by: his wife Sharon; his children, Daron Romanek (Abbey Fishman) and Scott Romanek (Randi); and his grandchildren, Joshua "Josh" (Rachel), Michael "Mikey", Richard "Ricky", Zachary "Zack' and Carli.
A funeral service was held on Monday, March 3rd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Congregation Beth Hillel Bnai Emunah (3220 Big Tree Ln, Wilmette, IL 60091). A burial was held on Monday, March 3rd 2025 at 2:15 PM at the Memorial Park Cemetery (9900 Gross Point Rd, Skokie, IL 60076). A shiva was held on Monday, March 3rd 2025 at the Scott and Randi Romanek's Residence (3714 Whirlaway Dr, Northbrook, IL 60062).
