He was predeceased by: his mother Arlene Freeman (Potter); his daughter Beth Cress; his stepfather James Hale; and also, Margaret Freeman and Harry Freeman.
He is survived by: his sister Carol Rischar-Shaneyfelt; his brother-in-law Fred Shaneyfelt; and his grandson Zachery Cress. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and step children.
He died peacefully at the Lewis County Nursing home after suffering from Parkinson's for several years.
