He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Hedy Ratner; his daughters, Robin Kaplan (Roger Kerson), Micki Kaplan (Bob Stallard) and Naomi Kramer (Yisroael); his grandchildren, Sarah, Astrid Kerson, Tzvi, Hillel, Uriel Kramer and Elias; his parents, Mabel Kaplan (Schack) and Charles Kaplan; his brother Robert (Linda); his nieces and nephews, Lisa, Wendy, Andy Kaplan (Karen), Tracy Farrell (Chris) and David Rosenfield; and his cousin Marian Loeb. He was also cherished by mother of his children, countless cousins and legions of friends.
