She was predeceased by: her parents, George Frederick Thompson and Orpha Darlene Woodford; and her husband Roger. She is survived by: her daughters, Kelly Carey (Aurora) and Lauri Carey (Utica); her grandson Ryan Carey; her brother Stan Thompson (Eileen); her niece Stephanie Cater (Tom); her nephew Brian Thompson (Kathi); her great-nieces and great-nephews, Jessica Unterbrink (Isaac), Jill Cater, Nate and Adam Thompson; and also Hallie Mae Unterbrink.

During COVID schooling Kathy would help Ryan every day with his zooms and his homework.
