We bid farewell to Gary L. Dobereiner of Silvis, Illinois, born in Moline, Illinois, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on October 27, 2024 at the age of 85. Gary touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvin Dobereiner and Margaret Dobereiner; and his former wife Carol Kidd. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Johnson; his children, Scott Dobereiner (Katheryn), Krista Cooper and Jennifer Reynolds (Darren); his grandchildren, Allen Dobereiner (Melissa), Tamyra Tarrence (Jason), Kassidy Cooper and Isabel Cooper; his great grandchildren, Tyler Dobereiner, Stella Dobereiner, Cooper Dobereiner, Annie Tarrence and Asher Tarrence; and his siblings, Peggy Bokros (Tom), Larry Dobereiner (Vicki), Cheryl McClure (Brice McKinney), Craig Dobereiner (Cheryl Brush), Bill Dobereiner (Kathy), Marge Schroder and Jon Dobereiner (Sherry). He is also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 6th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Schroder Mortuary - Silvis (701 1st Ave, Silvis, IL 61282). A memorial service was held on Wednesday, November 6th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorials may be made to Genesis Hospice, St. John Methodist Church in Sebring, FL, or First Baptist Church of Silvis.
