She was predeceased by: her parents, Ola Haywood and Esther Haywood (Smith); her husband Buford Harris; her son Gary Harris; her grandson Gary Bourrage; and her siblings, Matthew Haywood, Jacob Haywood, Jessie Mae Craig, Rena Dawkins and Nellie Hawkins.
She is survived by: her daughter Karen; her son-in-law Alphonse Martin, Sr. of Davenport; her grandchildren, Marcus Harris (Gabriela) of Moline, Damar Hampton (Liyah) of Davenport, Jonathon Lankford of Rock Island, Alphonse Martin, Jr. (Sharon) of Bettendorf, Andre Davis of Rock Island, Toniika Davis of Davenport, Peter Bourrage of Davenport and Melissa Bourrage of Davenport; and her great grandchildren, Teriona, Mariah, Malena, Damarkia, Damarionah, Kimaria, Harmony, Symphony, Aizarion of Janice, Tahivona, Alijah, Myriah, Taliyah, Dalyah, Alona and Alontae. She is also survived by extended family members and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the New Life Apostolic Church (218 35th Ave, East Moline, IL 61244). A funeral service was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the same location. A memorial service was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the Rock Island National Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the family for a fund to be established in Betty's memory.
