He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel C. Meiss and Lucille Streib Meiss; and his son Scott. He is survived by: his wife Judy Meiss of Sibley; his daughter Cynthia Simmons (Howard) of Paxton; his grandchildren, Zachary Meiss (Hannah) of Gibson City, Gregory Meiss (Brittany) of Sibley, Samantha Schultz (Kyle) of Sibley and Jonathan Meiss of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.; and his brothers, Richard Meiss (Janet) of Sibley and Curtis Meiss (Janice) of Fairbury.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church in Sibley where he was a long-time member.
