He was predeceased by: his parents, Irwin L. Smith and Frances Smith (Fulton) of Salem; his sister Janet Holzhauer; and his sister-in-law Sue Smith. He is survived by: his wife Kathryn "Katie" Boyer (McWhorter) of Shumway; his son Robert Smith (Lori) of Antioch, TN; his stepson Christopher Boyer (Kimberly) of Effingham; his grandchildren, Kyle, Kenna and Kayleigh Smith of Antioch, TN; his stepgrandchildren, Dominic Boyer, Courtney Boyer, Alison Hall, Brooke Hughart and Elaine Hagenseiker; his siblings, Stanley Smith of Salem and Anna Wright (Merle) of Iuka; and his brother-in-law Marvin Holzhauer.
