He was predeceased by: his uncle Bernard Koester. He is survived by: his parents, Clete Koester and Betty Koester (Goeckner) of Effingham; his wife Beth Koester of Shumway; his children, Hilary Rakers (Josh) of Oconee, MacKenzy Koester (Bryant Sawyer) of Shumway and Matt Koester (Jessica) of Stewardson; his grandchildren, Keaton, Hadley Sawyer, Silas, Sawyer and Wade Koester; his parents-in-law, Jim and Lucille Musser of Shumway; and his brothers, John (Jackie), Greg, Dan, Chris, Tim, Ted (Kathy) and Eric.
