With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Violet Downing of Shorewood, Illinois, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Violet left this world on March 12, 2025 at the age of 96, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Boubek and Grace Boubek (Copp); her husband John "Jack" Raymond Downing; and her brother Richard Boubek. She is survived by: her sons, Raymond J. Downing (Caroline), Kevin F. Downing (Lisa) and Brian W. Downing (Christine); her grandsons, Matthew, Wyatt, Alexander, Sean, Nicholas, Eric and Andrew; and her great grandchildren, Ayden, Kylan and Xander. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, March 20th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Matz Mt. Prospect Funeral Chapel, Inc. (410 E Rand Rd, Mt Prospect, IL 60056). A burial was held on Thursday, March 20th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the All Saints Cemetery (700 N River Rd, Des Plaines, IL 60016).
