He was predeceased by: his parents, Raleigh Shields and Mary Shields; and his siblings, James, Raleigh Jr., Reba, Douglas, Joyce, Charles, Lyndell and Sharon.
He is survived by: his wife Sarah Mabry (Kay); his daughters, Cara Shields and Lisa Knight; his grandchildren, Nicole Merriman, Joshua Merriman (Dialah Azam), Trevor Knight and Tyler Knight; and his siblings, Mary Crouch (late Tom), Dorris Klotz (Bob) and Rex Shields. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
