With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Katherine A. Thiel of Shorewood, Illinois, born in Chicago, Illinois, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Katherine left this world on October 17, 2024 at the age of 69, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Virginia Kroske and William Kroske; and her brothers, William and Glenn Kroske. She is survived by: her husband Michael; her children, Angelica May (Scott), Michael Thiel (Fay) and Mackenzie Thiel; her grandsons, Andrew and Aiden; and her sister Donna Kuykendall (Jim).
Visitation was held on Thursday, October 24th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Overman-Jones Funeral Home (15219 Joliet Rd, Plainfield, IL 60544). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, October 25th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Holy Family Catholic Church (600 Brook Forest Ave, Shorewood, IL 60404).
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) (https://www.breakthrought1d.org), a cause close to Katherine's heart.
