It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Edward Eltzroth of Shorewood, Illinois, born in Chillicothe, Ohio, who passed away on August 28, 2021, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, William Earl and Edna Eltzroth (Bier); his former wife Edra Eltzroth (Duffy); his son Mark Eltzroth; his granddaughter Lindsey Stoefen; and his brother Daniel Eltzroth.
He is survived by: his wife Sue Salamandyk Eltzroth (Yerian); his daughters, Marcia Lahr (Michael) of New Lenox, IL and Amy Stoefen (Scott) of Bartlett, IL; his grandchildren, Matthew 'Madi Lahr, Luke Stoefen, Mitchell Lahr and Megan Lahr; his stepchildren, Cindy Salamandyk, Kristin Salamandyk (AJ Adams) and Tim Salamandyk (Jeff Bledsoe); and his brother Thomas Eltzroth (Mary Kay). He is also survived by three nieces and one nephew; and many close friends.
A Memorial Visitation and Celebration of Life for Ed will be held at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.), Joliet, on Friday, September 3, 2021 from 3-6 p. m., with a service of remembrance beginning at 3:00 p. m. Social distancing and facemasks will be observed.
