He was predeceased by: his parents, Boyd Erwin and Lunette Erwin (Riley); his spouse Shirley L. Ritof; his sister Nancy Morrow (Charles); and his pet Snuggles.
He is survived by: his sons, Rick (Leslee Erwin) and Ron (Jana Erwin); his grandchildren, Brad Erwin (Cara), Matt Erwin (Lauren), Breann Schmid (Nathan), Jill Thorson (Jeff) and Elizabeth Story (Caleb Anderson); his stepgrandchildren, Ginelle Wyss (Derek) and Jon Mitchell; his great grandchildren, Avery, Evan Erwin, Alexandra, Everett Erwin, Madison, Nolan Schmid, Gus Thorson, Spencer Story, Emily and Leah Wyss; and his close friend Nickie Levins.
