She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Kush and Lorraine Kush; and her brother Michael Kush. She is survived by: her cousin Judy Garrett.

“I was so sorry to hear of Cathy's passing. I remember her saying that she hadn't thought of herself as a teacher leader until 1991 when she participated in a Chicago Area Writing Project summer institute. She became a much beloved leader of some of the first professional development workshops where she shared her knowledge of using computers in classrooms. Cathy was always positive and supportive to others - adults and children, and she will be missed. - Barbara Kato”
