He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Shewmaker and Iva Capps (Gilbert); his granddaughter Riley Monson; his brother Danny Shewmaker; his father-in-law Rainiero Di Sera; and his brothers-in-law, Ray Sera and Angelo Di Sera.
He is survived by: his wife Antoinette "Toni" Shewmaker (Di Sera) of Shorewood; his children, Jennifer Monson (Troy) of Shorewood and Kevin Shewmaker (Amanda) of Tinley Park; his grandchildren, Kaia, Ronan, Drake Monson, Aubrey, Aiden and Austin Shewmaker; his sister Pat Eigenheer (Don) of Channahon; his mother-in-law Inivola Di Sera of Joliet; and his siblings-in-law, Mary Rehm (Thomas), Rosa Zagar (Martin), Sylvia Formenti (George), Maurino Di Sera, James Di Sera and Pearline Shewmaker. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
