She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Robert and Genora Mamie Meader (Hendrix). She is survived by: her husband Paul Edward Smith, Jr. of Sherman; her children, Dawn Rutschke (Chuck) of Sherman, Jill Semanik (Rob) of Springfield, Courtney Spielman (James) of Marion, Iowa and Steffen Smith of St. Louis; her grandchildren, Tara, Catelyn, Hannah, Whitney, Megan, Cassy, Xander and Everett; and her great grandchildren, Griffin, Wren, McKenzie, Cameron and Callie.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Lela was a big supporter of Ronald and Nancy Reagan and had been touched personally with Alzheimer's as her mother and grandmother suffered from this disease.
