With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Katrina J. (Hizer) Beattie of Sherman, Illinois, born in Logansport, Indiana, who passed away on January 29, 2023 at the age of 73. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Katrina J. (Hizer) Beattie to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Lawrence Hizer and Dorothy Hizer (McLochlin); her stepfather Raymond Warfield; and her brother Lawrence Hizer, Jr.. She is survived by: her husband Donald "Mark" Beattie; her children, Jason D. Smith of Sherman, IL and Dr. Sarah A. Smith (Kelly Brent) of Springfield, IL; her grandchildren, Quentin Smith, Makaeda Matthews-Smith, Gavin Smith, Gabrielle Smith and Alexis Smith; and her siblings, Marcia Campbell of Miramar Lakes, FL, John Hizer of Kewanna, IN and Cresswell Hizer (Lynn) of Indianapolis, IN. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Global Volunteers, Doctors Without Borders, or the Animal Protective League.
