He is survived by: his wife Peggy Matthews; his children, Brianna Marie Hoover (Cody Neal), Kimberly Ilene Hoover (Nick Lueck) and Matthew William Hoover; his former wife Peggy Hoover; his brothers, Johnny Hoover and Vernon Frederick Jr.; and his friend Ralph Hart. He is also survived by his three children; nine grandchildren.
