He was predeceased by: his parents, John W. Brackney and Leah Faye Brackney (Bieber); his wife Rita Sue Brackney; and his brother Terry Brackney. He is survived by: his children, Cheryl Carney (Patrick) of St. Charles, IL, Steve Brackney (Melynda) of Frontenac, MO and Karen Stevens (Todd) of Washington, IL; his grandchildren, Cloe, Jack Brackney, Patrick, Bill Carney, Bryn and Ben Stevens; and his great grandchildren, Hank, Norman Carney, Reese and Averie Carney.
Memorials may be given to the Shelbyville Education Fund for the James Brackney Educational Scholarship.
