He was predeceased by: his parents, Barney Ray, Sr. and Alta Belle Melvin (Launius); his wife Shirley Melvin; and his brothers, Kenneth Melvin (Wanda) and Troy Melvin (Eleanor).
He is survived by: his friend Barney (Shirley); his daughter Lana R. Pancoast (Bob) of Shelbyville, IL; his grandchildren, Zachary R. Pancoast (Mini) of Town and Abbie R. Vollmar (Brian) of Carmel, IN; his great grandchildren, Lily, Reagan Vollmar and Zinnia Pancoast; his sister Phyllis Klinefelter of Taylorville, IL; and his friends, Bill Edwards, Emalea Sohaney and Betty Cole. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
