He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Bennett and Kathleen Bennett (Sullivan); his brother Robert "Bob" Bennett; his granddaughter Payton Carter; and his parents-in-law, Eugene and Marcia Van Cauwenberge (Moore).

He is survived by: his wife Pam Bennett (Van Cauwenberge); and his daughters, Angela Bennett, Sarah Mueth (Nic), Becky Carter (Tony), Molly Bennett (Tim Mejudhon) and Bobbi Bennett. He is also survived by several in-laws and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.

Memorials may be directed to the Bureau County 4-H or Sheffield Rescue Unit or anywhere of the donor's choosing.
