He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernon L., Sr. and Alice R. Blackert (Pratt); his wife Rita S. Faris; his son Shawn Blackert; and his siblings-in-law, Betty Blackert and Donavon Kleckner.
He is survived by: his daughter Brenda Helms (Bret); his grandchildren, Blake, Bryce and Brooke Helms; and his siblings, Vernon Blackert, Jr., Ralph Blackert (MaryAnn), Adrianna Kleckner and Walter Blackert (Joyce).
