He was predeceased by: his parents, Emmitt Downen and Delilah Downen (Wilson); his wife Betty Downen (Dietz); his grandson Chris Downen; and his siblings, Bill, Ed, Tom, Terry, Andy Downen, Anna Lee and Carolyn Downen.
He is survived by: his sons, Bobby, John David Downen (Lori), Steve Downen (Kristy) and Matt Downen (Julie); his grandchildren, Courtney Downen, Jordan Ahrens, Hank, Kassidy, Lucas, Wyatt Downen, Hayley, Rogers, Cale Downen, Maggie Downen and Audie Goebel; his great grandchildren, Henry, Megan, Gracie, Jake, Ava, Kaden, Drew, Liam, Walker, Barrett, Graham and Kolt; his brother Don Downen (Amy); and his sisters-in-law, Sissy and Judy Downen.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Hospice of Southern Illinois, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
