He was predeceased by: his parents, John DeWall and Elva DeWall; his parents-in-law, Leonard and Lois Flack; and his siblings-in-law, Kenneth Juergens and Charlene Krum.

He is survived by: his wife Ardath; his sons, Steve DeWall (Mary) and Jeff DeWall (Lori); his grandchildren, Alyssa DeWall, Seth Posey (Amanda Zahm), Brooklyn and Bryce DeWall; his siblings, Donald DeWall (Marian), Eldon DeWall (Elsie), Leola Juergens and Anita DeVries (Robert); and his brother-in-law Alan Flack (Sherry). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial fund has been established.
