He was predeceased by: his parents, John Schmidecamp and Alma Schmidecamp; and his brother Jackie. He is survived by: his wife Jan; his daughters, Lori Byrd (Dennis) and Lisa Cassioppi (James); his grandchildren, CJ, Ben and Anna; and his sister Marilyn Flickinger (Gary).

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.
