He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Paul Stees and Opal Stees; his family Bill; his wife Jan Stees; his children, Timothy Stees (Linda) of Hixson, TN and Lorilee Wood (David) of Muscatine, IA; his granddaughters, Amy Stees, Audrey Moore (Jon), Kaytlynn Kopp (Joe), Whitney Cole (Aaron), Shannon Allen (Jordan) and Hannah Wood; and his great grandchildren, Brooklynn of Ellie, JJ, Parker, Shepherd, Carter, Asher, Haven, Emmett, Jubilee and Carsten.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established at Shannon Baptist Church.
