He was predeceased by: his parents, August Meier and Elsie Meier (Taber); his son Daniel "Chip" Meier; and his brothers, Robert Meier of Prophetstown, IL. and Ronald Meier of Prophetstown, IL..
He is survived by: his children, David of Cocoa, FL and Monica Gregg (Mike) of Viola, IL.; his wife Alice; his daughter Johnna Meier of Sycamore, IL; his brothers, Raymond Meier of Warren, IL and Larry Meier (Val) of Surprise, AZ.; and his grandchildren, Mitch Meier (Dawn), Kathy Crabbe (Mark), Matt Meier (Jhessa), Sunny Sandry (Joel) and Travis Gregg (Becca). He is also survived by ten great- grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
The family has requested in lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for John at the Calvary Lutheran Church at 19 Perry Road Lee, IL 60530.
