He was predeceased by: his parents, Elza Mitchell and Mae Irene Sample (Kirkpatrick); his son Douglas Sample; and his brother Roy Sample. He is survived by: his wife Theresa Marie Sample (Undiener); his sons, Edward Sample (Veronica) of St. Charles, MO, Michael Sample (Pat) of Sesser and Bradley Sample of Jacksonville; his grandchildren, Katie Sample, Patrick Sample (Kristy), Kayla Cannon (Gowdy), Hunter Sample, Kyle Sample (Elizabeth), Danica Rich and Austin Sample; and his siblings, Joan Earnheart, Martha Hargis, Larry Sample and Danny Sample. He is also survived by 6 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Sesser-Valier Outdoorsmen Club or to SSM Hospice.
