It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Max Ray Crain of Sesser, Illinois, born in Waltonville, Illinois, who passed away on November 24, 2020, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Orville "Pete" and Alreva Crain (Laur); his former wife Pauline Long; his brothers-in-law, Howard Rowley and Brad Evilsizer; and his nephew Brian Evilsizer.
He is survived by: his children, Meindy Hamilton (Glenn) of Sesser and Terry Kirk (Brad) of Sesser; his wife Donna Simpson; his children, Shannon Avery (Mike) of Opdyke and Gary Vancil of Oklahoma; his great grandchildren, Gabe, Carson Woolsey, Ryder Szczeblewski, Brantley, Harper and Kenzi Hamilton; his sisters, Maxine Rowley of Sesser and Mary Ann Evilsizer of Baytown; his sister-in-law Carla Cochrane (Wes) of Paris; and his nieces and nephews, Janet, Judy, Melody, Jennifer, Steven, Bruce and Carl.
Because of the threat of Covid, everyone is asked to remain in their cars and turn their car radio to 90. 1 FM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Union Primitive Baptist Cemetery, Sunfield United Methodist Church or SSM Health at Home Hospice of Illinois.
