Though Marilyn Mae may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, her essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Edwin Douglas and Vivian Douglas (Henry); and her sister Edwina Wright. She is survived by: her brother Guy "Buzz"; and her siblings-in-law, Sandra Douglas of New Boston and Bob Hollembaek of Moline. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 7th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM and on Friday, November 8th 2024 at 9:00 AM at the Speer Funeral Home (2502 SE 3rd St, Aledo, IL 61231). A funeral service was held on Thursday, November 7th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Aledo Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to The Mercer County VFW Auxiliary or St. Catherine's Catholic Church.
